
Scenario 1: Using a Customs House Agent to acquire AfCFTA certificate of origin
- Contract an Agent
- The Agent would login to the ICUMS portal

- Go to “Single Window”
- Click “Registration”
- Click “Exporter Registration”
- Click “Create Exporter Registration” and Select the AfCFTA COO from the list.
- Complete the AfCFTA Exporter registration application form online using exporter details.
- Click “Save “and then click “Complete”
- You receive a pop-up message confirming submission
- When approved by Customs and GNCCI or MOTI, the applicant must log in again to accept the scheduled date for inspection.
- Inspection reports are then uploaded by the various inspecting teams then final approval is given when the committee is satisfied with the reports.

Scenario 2: Self Declaring
- Visit the GRA-Customs Division’s Policies and Programmes (P&P) office at any customs post to request registration to access to the ICUMS portal.
- GRA- Customs would help you to register and onboard your company unto the ICUMS portal (Note that you would need a company TIN)
- Once your onboarding is approved, follow the below process to register as an AfCFTA Exporter.
- Login to the ICUMS portal ( www.external.unipassghana.com)
- Go to “Single Window”
- Click “Registration”
- Click “Exporter Registration”
- Click “Create Exporter Registration”
- Complete the AfCFTA Exporter registration application form online using exporter details.
- Click “Save “and now click “Complete”
- You receive a pop-up message confirming submission
