Earlier today, the National AfCFTA Coordination Office held a press launch of the Ghana Expo 2023 – Tanzania, at the Four Points by Sheraton in Dar es Salaam, to formally introduce the Ghana Expo 2023 – Tanzania.
The Ghana Expo 2023 – Tanzania will be the second edition in a series of Ghana Expos, intended to facilitate the entry of Ghanaian enterprises into Africa, under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement, fostering economic growth and boosting Ghana’s trade with Africa.
In his welcome address, the Ghana High Commissioner to Tanzania, based in Nairobi, H.E Damptey Bediako Asare, emphasized the need for increased linkages between African markets, to catalyze Africa’s economic growth.
The National Coordinator of Ghana’s AfCFTA Coordination Office, Dr. Fareed Arthur, mentioned in his statements that the expansion of the Ghana Expo series to Tanzania allows Ghana to consolidate its market entry into East Africa and improve Ghana’s trade prospects with sub-region under AfCFTA while providing a platform for meaningful economic partnerships and collaborations.
Scheduled for 25th – 29th September 2023, in the vibrant city of Dar Es Salaam, the Ghana Expo 2023 – Tanzania will provide a dynamic platform for industry leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from Ghana and Tanzania and other parts of Eastern Africa to work together to explore opportunities for industrial transformation and the boosting of intra-African trade.
